Endless Fun and Exciting Activities for Everyone

With the Wynnum and Manly suburbs complimenting each other so well, all our guests (and even local residents) never run out of exciting activities and extreme adventures to do during their stay.

History buffs cannot afford to miss a visit to the colonial prison of St. Helena Island and the 19th-century garrison at Fort Lytton, accessible by boat and car, respectively. A B Sea Cruises and Cat O Nine Tail Cruises operate tours to St. Helena Island. Truly adventurous and brave souls will satiate their need for spooky excitement with the Night Ghost Tour. You may also visit the significant sites and revisit the historical events that shaped Wynnum by walking along the 4.3 km Wynnum Heritage Trail. Nearby North Stradbroke Island, the second largest sand island in the world, has a well-documented history of Aboriginal and colonial presence.

Nature lovers will feel right at home in this animal-friendly community! Bird enthusiasts can head to the Wynnum North bird hide to view native birds feeding and resting in the wetlands. The bay is teeming with wildlife including turtles, dolphins, dugongs, and manta rays, so jump on a boat for some close interaction with these meek sea creatures. You may even be lucky to receive a visit from a dolphin whilst walking along the esplanade or enjoying a bite to eat in one of the waterfront restaurants or clubs!

With so many activities on offer for the young and not so young at heart, your stay in Wynnum Manly is sure to be a memorable one! Choose from beach side activities, water fun activities, sailing, fishing and diving.

Each suburb has its own distinctive personality: Wynnum Central is a commercial and very family-friendly hub. Manly Harbour Village offers spectacular waterfront restaurants and activities, while the Manly Marina is home to many modern yachts and cruisers.

Let your Kids Play and Learn

Our fabulous wading pool on the esplanade is a favourite of kids who feel a little apprehensive playing in the open water. Perfect for toddlers with its low water height and kiddie slide, this pool is kept clean by the tide and stays full all the time. Next to the wading pool is a water adventure playground where your kids can stay cool and refreshed even under the heat of the Australian sun. This playground includes terrific BBQ facilities and plenty of shade and bathrooms for a fun, family day out.

You can also teach your kids the importance of the mangrove environment and its purpose in the area with the help of an easy-to-follow storybook trail in the nearby Wynnum Mangrove Boardwalk. Close to the Wynnum By The Bay house, this trail will expose your kids to the different wildlife who have made the mangrove environment their home.
